January 2026
HI!
Catching up after a very busy start to the winter, I didn't realise how long it had been since my last update which really was my first blog and a little intro so if you haven't read it take a look.
Back at the start of December I finally got myself a winback unit! Soooo excited to finally have one. I first looked at these, well came across them back in 2019? I was at an electrotherapy training day with Dr Tim Watson- the guru for anything electrical therapy wise and back then the only company to deliver this therapy was Indiba. Indiba is quite a commonly known brand now but back then they were brand new and eye wateringly expensive! So I convinced myself I didn't need one 😂.
Fast forward and Indiba was being used by quite a few therapists across the country and I started to look at them again but by this point another brand came out- Winback. So simply put Indiba and Winback are brand names. The actual therapy is TECAR therapy which stands for: Transfer of Energy Capacitive and Resistive. TECAR therapy is a radio frequency therapy that delivers through electrical currents at various herts (Hz) to provide optimal treatment to various parts/ depths of the body. The Winback is like a more advanced version of the Indiba and can work with multiple frequencies aswell as delivering TENs and EMS (electrical muscular stimulation) frequencies AND can deliver 'shock' frequencies- which will provide the same therapeutic benefits as shockwave can.
During 2025 I found more and more vets were referring for this treatment having clearly seen the amazing benefits it brings and so I was having to refer clients to other therapists so they could benefit from it. Before long I decided I just needed to go for it and invest! So starting in December last year I got my brand new WINBACK and started initially treating people with it. The verbal feedback is really useful when starting with a new piece of kit plus when we can feel the benefits then we are better informed at how it's going to help our horses and pets too. Another perk of the Winback is the same unit can be used on both people and animals its so versatile!
I have to admit I've never treated so many people since leaving the NHS! Having been mainly equine there is definitely a shift now so many people are trying it out and feeling much better for it. There are so many uses and benefits for both human and equine. If you want to find out more check out the Winback page on the website or drop me a message. Back to treating horses all afternoon after a morning of Winback treatments.
Have a great day
